Literature Wales worked with Natural Resources Wales to facilitate creative responses to the Nature and Us conversations. As poets in residence, Durre Shahwar and Grug Muse attended Nature and Us events as well as running creative workshops with farmers in North Wales and people from Islamic communities in Cardiff to gather their thoughts about the future of the environment in Wales. Both poets then created responses to these sessions, Durre through the medium of English and Grug through the medium of Welsh.

For Nature and Us, this helped frame some of the voices that were coming out of the conversation in a way that spoke to personal emotional ties to the future. From hope to despair, all the feelings that we carry are real and important. When we make a pledge to our future its often our feeling that push us forward or hold us back, but these feelings can be lost in the clarity of a single national vision. In reading the poetic works presented by Durre and Grug you can remind yourself of the journey that we all have to take.
